The xMB-9640 Ford Array Balancer Kit will support vehicle dealer servicing of Ford’s HV battery packs aligned with Ford’s strategic global expansion of BEV and PHEV vehicle platforms.

The xMB-9640 Ford Array Balancer Kit includes the following:

• xMB-9640 Ford Array Balancer
• LV connector Harness to service initial BEV A arrays

The deployment of xMB-9640 KIT will provide Ford Ford EV Certified Dealers and EV qualified commercial service repair facilities with:    

• A safe and efficient way for technicians to field service Ford HV BEV battery packs
• A consistent HV service experience for technicians with accurate results
• Array testing prior to balancing or service
• Array pack balancing
• New array balancing if replacing an array into the battery pack

xMB-9640 charges or discharges battery arrays up to 96 volts.  Max current capabilities are 40 amps up to 48 volts and 20 amps above 48 volts.  The operation of the unit is through a 5” color touchscreen or keypad and an android operating system with applications for each function.  This unit combined with our unique service approach described below can satisfy current Ford array servicing with hardware and flexibility through wireless updates and monitoring to address most future array changes or requirement needs.

The xMB-9640 monitors array voltage, cell voltages, balancing current and temperature during the balance.
